Steatite

Steatite is a magnesium silicate – made up to 90% from soapstone. Particular feature: The extremely good process ability. Steatite is burnt at temperatures of between 1300°C and 1400°C. This safeguards both the high density and pronounced mechanical strength.

The capability to manufacture a wide range of extruded sizes accommodating both resistor and igniter manufacturers. Some component parts include ceramic heaters, ceramic resistors and ceramic igniters.

Here is where our customers turn to OFA:

  • Switch and plug parts
  • Insulating jacks
  • Controller parts and casings
  • Halogen lamp bases
  • Heating conductor carriers and resistor cores
